Dr. Salomi Kafouri

Dr. Kafouri graduated of the Psychology Department of Faculty of Social Sciences and Education - University of Cyprus, has a Master of Science in Applied Neuropsychology from the University of Nottingham in UK, and has a PhD title in Psychology from the University of Nottingham in UK.

She was trained (4 yrs) in Systemic Psychotherapy and Family Therapy of the Systemic Centre for Training and Psychotherapy registered by EFTA, in Athens, and also received training (2 yrs) in psychological care of cancer patients supported by Gestalt Foundation in a non-profit organization in Athens. Further, she was trained and supervised (9 mths) in learning disabilities (private sector) in Athens, and in neuropsychological testing in Montreal Neurological Institute in Canada.

Her research interests are focused on cognitive and brain development during childhood and adolescence; her research projects were funded by Unilever in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands, and the Canadian Institute of Health Research.

She has worked as a psychologist in a non-profit organization (counseling families and children); supporting a child with learning disabilities; as a volunteer psychologist providing psychological care of cancer patients; as a psychologist developing a program and educating adolescents in alcohol and internet addiction, as well as developing a program and counseling women in prison.
