Dr. Dimitra Rousioti

Dr. Dimitra Rousioti graduated of the Department of Archaeology of the University of Ioannina. She has a Master of Arts in Mediterranean Archaeology from the University of Bristol in U.K. and a PhD in Prehistoric Archaeology from the Department of History & Archaeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

She has attended classes at King’s College London and at the Institute of Archaeology of the University College London with a grant by the State Scholarships Foundation. Grants by the Institute for Aegean Prehistory (U.S.A.) for personal research in the Department of Classics of the University of Texas at Austin and the American School of Classical Studies and Archaeology at Athens. She participated in the postgraduate seminar on Linear B of the Program for Aegean Scripts and Prehistory been conducted at the Department of Classics of the University of Texas at Austin.

She had been working as an archaeologist in the Greek Ministry of Culture and participated in excavation projects in Greece and Cyprus. She has experience in vocational training in the fields of culture, history of art and the operation of museums and archaeological sites. 

She has taken part in several conferences and has given lectures in Greece and abroad.

Research interests : Prehistoric archaeology, Creto-mycenaean religion, religious syncretism in Aegean Bronze Age, Linear B script and religion, Mycenaean civilization, prehistoric iconography and cult, urban organization and religious ceremonies.
